BEDROOM FURNITURE REFINISHING · BEFORE & AFTER
Bedroom set refinishing:
from brown to off-white.
From traditional brown to soft off-white and dark contrasting tops—a coordinated bedroom set, reimagined.

A bedroom set can have all the right shapes and still feel ready for a change. This project kept the traditional profiles—the curved sleigh bed, framed drawers and substantial moldings—and gave them a lighter, coordinated look.
At Wood & Whimsy Custom Furniture in Conyers, Georgia, we refinish furniture around the look our customers want to bring home. For this transformation, the contrast is the story: off-white bodies paired with dark tops, carried across the matching storage pieces.
Before: a traditional brown bedroom set
The original video shows the chest, nightstand and bed components in their brown finish. Rather than replacing the furniture, the project centered on changing its color story while keeping its familiar silhouette. The tall chest’s moldings and the bed’s sweeping curves would become much more noticeable against a lighter finish.
The approach: one coordinated look
Refinishing a matching set is about how the pieces work together. Here, the off-white finish ties the bed, mirror frame and drawer fronts together. Dark top surfaces give the storage pieces definition, while the lighter molding underneath keeps the contrast focused at the top.
Preparation is an important part of our refinishing service: cleaning and preparing furniture for its new finish come before the final color. The media here documents the original condition, the finished pieces wrapped for delivery and the result in the room.
From finished pieces to delivery
In the delivery clip, the newly finished chest and mirror are wrapped, with protective blankets visible beside them. Seeing the pieces at this stage connects the before footage to the final room photos: the same traditional forms, now brought together by a much lighter palette.
After: lighter frames, defined details
The finished chest shows the effect up close. Its off-white drawer fronts bring the small ring pulls into focus, and the dark top draws a clear line above the curved molding. On the dresser, the matching mirror frame repeats the lighter finish and makes the two pieces read as a single composition.

The room photo brings it all together. The sleigh bed remains the centerpiece, while the matching chest, dresser and nightstands share the same visual direction. This is what a coordinated refinish can do: give existing furniture a fresh place in the room without losing the details that made it worth keeping.
